5월 6일 Asian Cultural Festival

Martial arts, ethnic dances, cultural exhibitions, entertainment, games, and of course, food! Pet friendly and smoking-free. The Asian Cultural Festival is hosted and presented by the National Asian American Coalition and produced by Silk Road Productions.

5월 13일 Tacotopia
Are you ready for the ultimate taco taste test? The San Diego Reader invites you to our  third annual  Reader Tacotopia on  May 13, 2017! This event will take place in Golden Hill Park to celebrate one of San Diego’s finest qualities...TACOS! We are gathering the 50 finest  taco vendors from San Diego, LA and TJ  and attendees will ultimately decide who will win the Best Taco at Tacotopia 2017! The music, drinks, San Diego sun and tacos makes this our most popular event every year.
While you eat your weight in tacos and bask in the San Diego sunshine, there will be live music from some of Tijuana's best bands, as well as a beer garden (for those 21+ only) with beer,  margaritas, and more! All proceeds from the cash bar will benefit The Greater Golden Hill Community Development Corporation.  Choose from two ticket options (tickets go on sale January 2017):
The party will be happening, rain or shine.  Sorry, but pets will not be permitted.

5월 14일 Gospel Brunch
This event showcases local talent performing both traditional and contemporary Gospel songs. Before and during the show, treat yourself to an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring breakfast favorites plus carving stations, southern specialties, and desserts. Included in your ticket purchase is a $1 donation to Music Forward, a national non-profit organization channeling the power of music to help under served youth create pathways to productive, sustainable, and fulfilling lives.

5월 20일 North Park Festival of the Arts
North Park Main Street Association announces this year’s San Diego County Credit Union 21st Annual Festival of the Arts in North Park, a free art and live music festival that also highlights the local craft beer and food community. This year’s event boasts extended hours.
This celebration of the historic North Park neighborhood attracts more than 40,000 attendees from around San Diego. The nine-square block festival will be held along University near 30th Street, which is packed full with entertainment and activities including art, a popular array of live music and dance performances, interactive experiences and artisan items for sale. This year  locally driven food and beverage vendors will also be spotlighted, including the Waypoint Craft Beer Block. Experience unlimited tasters from a selection of over 30 local craft brewers, several of which are ranked as the best new breweries in San Diego.
The Kids Art Block will provide kids the opportunity to participate in interactive activities designed to stimulate, inspire their imaginations, and create their own masterpieces. The festival will also feature a live art element: contemporary urban artists will create unique works of art using creative every-day objects like cars, refrigerators, and boom boxes. Along University Avenue and 30th, North Park.

5월 21일 Navy's 31st Bay Bridge Run/Walk
Run or walk this panoramic four-mile course from downtown San Diego across the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge and into Coronado's Tidelands Park   for a rockin' post-race party. All participants receive a finisher's medal and event shirt, plus free transportation back to downtown. All proceeds benefit Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs for our military families.

5월 27일 PARKEOLOGY
This will be a contemporary music concert designed to not only hear, but to feel and see the vibrations of the Spreckels Organ. Parkeology includes several other events, coordinated by Kate Clark under the auspices of the San Diego Art Institute. A five-episode podcast series provides an expanded perspective on each Parkeology event with interviews and sound recordings from Parkeology participants, hosts, researchers, and artists.

5월 28일 JOSEPH & THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT
The Kroc Kids Junior Theatre, the performing arts groups that "nurtures the aspiring artist in any child who wants to participate," presents the Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Webber musical based on the "coat of many colors" story of Joseph in the book of Genesis.
