8월4일 Bon Odori Festival

The Japanese Friendship Garden (JFG) and Buddhist Temple of San Diego (BTSD) host the 4th annual Bon Odori Festival! For two days, you will be able enjoy a variety of merchants, engage in family friendly activities, treat yourselves to Japanese festival foods, a beer garden, a tea & dessert garden, and experience cultural performances throughout each day!
Each festival day will also highlighted with traditional Bon Odori practices.

8월 5일 Open Cockpit Days

Come sit in a plane! Several aircraft will be open for visitors to experience U.S. Marine Corps aviation from a pilot’s perspective. Also see 31 historical aircraft up close as well as hundreds of artifacts from the earliest days of aviation to the present day. The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum is aboard Marine Corps Air Station-Miramar. The sentry-free museum entrance is on Miramar Rd., 3.9 miles east of I-805 and 1.3 miles west of I-15. (Look for the Marine Corps and American flags at the entrance.) Open Tues-Sun, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. FREE admission and parking. www.flyingleathernecks.org. 858-693-1723.

8월 11일 Craft Beer & Cannabis

San Diego is best known for their excellent beers and breweries. Beer and cannabis have always paired well, as you'll see on a 420 friendly Craft Beer and Cannabis tour. This event is not for someone looking for just a regular brewery tour. Travel in comfort and style to a huge brewery, then a dispensary, then to another brewery. Trip lasts 4:20 (4 hours 20 mins). Bring your own cannabis or check out some top quality strains while at the dispensary. WCCT will only take you to the highest quality locations, and you get free beer tasters at the breweries. Must be 21+ with valid ID.

8월 12일 Tom Loeser

Tom Loeser: Please Please Please highlights the work of this internationally known figure, whose woodworking practice spans over thirty years, incorporating multiple approaches, transforming the field and inspiring the generations that have followed. The artist’s primary question is, “If the furniture we sit on every day were totally different, would our lives be different too?” Accessible and entertaining, Loeser’s works function to shake up our habits, encouraging us to be playful with our environment and one another.

8월 18일 Catfish Season

Channel catfish are found in every state in the lower forty eight and their season normally runs from late spring through the fall. Late afternoons into the night are more active hours for the mostly nocturnal feeders, and this weekend Lake Jennings will kick off their night-fishing season with 2,000 pounds of stocked channel catfish. The lake will be open for fishing until midnight, Friday through Sunday this Memorial Day weekend. Night fishing continues all summer through Labor Day with the lake staying open Friday and Saturday nights until midnight. Lanterns are required after 8pm. A California State Fishing License is required in addition to your lake permit for those over 16 years of age.

8월 19일 America's Finest City Half Marathon & 5K

The AFC half Marathon is run on a fast, scenic, point-to-point course. The race starts at the historic Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma with its world-renowned vistas of San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean, follows scenic San Diego Bay and Harbor Island along the Embarcadero to the Star of India, winds through downtown San Diego and finishes in beautiful Balboa Park. The America's Finest City Half Marathon is the third and final race in the Half Marathon Triple CrownSM Series.

Technical fabric, men's and women's race T-shirt. Personalized bib numbers (must be registered by July), AFC reusable bag, finisher's medal, transportation to race start, support stations throughout course, finish line treats including TruMoo chocolate milk, cold water, and finisher food bag filled with recovery snacks, finish line festival in Balboa Park with live band, refreshments, and local vendors, complimentary beer in the finish line beer garden. Third and final race in the Half Marathon Triple Crown.

Smokefall explores the lives of this family in a lyrical treatise on the fragility of life and the power of love.

8월 26일 Wonderspaces

As a follow up to a 2017 debut that drew over sixty-six thousand visitors, Wonderspaces returns to San Diego this summer with fifteen new works of extraordinary art. The new show, titled With Creative License, opens June 8 at the B Street Pier with timed entries from 10am to 8:30pm daily. Tickets for Wonderspaces will be available on a monthly, space available basis and range from $14 to $24 dollars.
