호주 위키드(Wicked)

WICKED, the untold story of the Witches of Oz, features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Academy Award-winner for Pocahantas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman ("My So-called Life," "Once And Again" and "thirtysomething"), and is based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire.  With musical staging by Tony Award-winner Wayne Cilento (Aida, The Who"s Tommy, Sweet Charity), WICKED is directed by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Assassins, Glengarry Glenn Ross).

 

‘오즈의 마법사’의 전편 이야기를 다룬 그레고리 맥과이어의 동명 소설을 바탕으로 한다. 우리가 흔히 ‘나쁜 서쪽 마녀’로 알고 있는 마녀의 사연을 그린 작품이다. 서쪽마녀 엘파바(Elphaba)가 1막 마지막에 부르는 ‘Defying Gravity’를 놓치지 말자.
