Hip-hop music and culture join forces with exquisite choreography in Gravity of Center, a new dance show performed by RUBBERBANDance Group and presented by Danceworks. With five energetic dancers and a soundtrack spun out by DJ Lil’Jaz, the performance melds the aggression of urban street culture with refined dance moves.

Formed in 2002 by American-born choreographer Victor Quijada, RUBBERBANDance Group deconstructs traditional dance aesthetics and applies them to the world of youth and hip hop. The group uses both classical and modern choreographic language to make statements on human relationships. Danceworks is one of the country"s top independent dance companies.
