캐나다 The Snowman-The TSO's homage to the classic holiday cartoon

Since its debut on Great Britain"s Channel 4 in December 1982, Dianne Jackson"s cartoon The Snowman has become a holiday staple for families in many countries. For its thirtieth anniversary, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra plays Howard Blake"s score live with the film, including the song “Walking in the Air”, with Stuart Chafetz conducting.

Based on the 1978 children"s picture book by Raymond Briggs, The Snowman is the story of a snowman that comes to life and befriends the young boy who built him. It was an immediate hit upon its release and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short.
