이 학교는 한국의 학부모들이 가장 선호하는 학교 중 하나로 미국 내 전체 사립학교 중에서 최우수학교 20위에 오르는 명문이다. 이 학교는 특히 소재지가 뉴저지의 한국 교포 밀집지역과 가까워 교포 중에서도 여유가 있는 사람들은 뉴욕, 뉴저지의 공립학교를 피해서 이곳에 자녀를 입학시키고 있다.

유학생의 경우 학교에 ESL과정이 없어서 영어가 완벽하지 않으면 입학이 안되고, SSAT도 평균 50%를 넘겨야 입학이 허가된다.

1810년 교회 목사에 의해 설립된 로렌스빌 스쿨은 뉴저지주에 작고 유서 깊은 마을인 로렌스빌에 위치해 있다. 로렌스빌은 뉴욕에서 1시간 10분, 필라델피아에서 1시간 가량 떨어진 곳이다. 로렌스빌 스쿨은 자기개발과 공동체 생활을 위한 개인의 책임감을 강조하고 있다. 따라서 이 학교 교육목적은 공부를 열심히 하여 대학에 진학하는 것뿐만 아니라 능동적으로 사려 깊은 사회의 일원이 되도록 하는데 있다.

21개 과목에 AP가 개설되어 있고 졸업 전에 40시간의 지역 봉사활동을 마쳐야만 졸업이 가능하다. 학급당 학생수는 12명 정도이다. 성적 우수자에 한하여 근처 프린스턴 대학에서 몇몇 과목을 수강할 수도 있다.
