FREE - Sydney Easter Parade

Colour, costumes and celebration will once again fill Sydney Easter Parade.

Last year’s parade was said to be the best Easter celebration in the city of Sydney in over 20 years, with approximately 1200 people in the parade and thousands more who lined up the streets of the CBD to watch the celebration.

Sydney Easter Parade 2013 has now been scheduled for Saturday, 6th of April, 2013, the Saturday after the Easter Weekend. This event is expected to attract over 3,000 paraders from different groups, ministries, and churches from various denominations, who will all come together and celebrate the unified theme, Jesus is Alive.

Giant inflatables, animal costumes, marching band, stilt-walkers and many creative and colourful displays are some of the things that will be featured in the parade. The sound of music and celebration will once again pulsate through the air as many people from different ethnic heritage will take part in this joyous occasion to celebrate the resurrection of Christ as Australian Christians.

The Pre Parade Event will start at 10am in Hyde Park, directly opposite Sheraton on the Park. Then the parade itself will set off at exactly 11:30am. The route will start from the north side of Hyde Park into Park St, left into George St, left into Bathurst St, left into Elizabeth St, then back into Hyde Park again.

The party then continues at Hyde Park where the general public is also invited to enjoy the Post Parade Celebration. There will be live performances, food trucks, face painting, fairy floss and a jumping castle. This is a free family event to celebrate Easter with other Sydneysiders.

Schedule:
10am: Pre Parade Event (Hyde Park Sydney opposite Sheraton on the Park)
11:30am: Parade Starts (Market St, George St, Bathurst St & Elizabeth St, Sydney)
12:30pm: Post Parade Celebration (Hyde Park Sydney opposite Sheraton on the Park)
