Korean Cultural Office selects about 40 works, including painting, photography, video and installation, which express the creativity of Korean contemporary art. This exhibition will provide a valuable opportunity for everyone to enjoy artistic excellence and share the deep thought of Korean contemporary artists.

For the past ten years, the National Art Studio, Korea has been cultivating the promising Korean artists. In addition, the studio supported them by organising two of their exhibitions overseas (New York in 2009, London in 2011). This year, the special exhibition, which will be held at the Korean Cultural Office in Sydney, casts light upon common issues raised, such as majority’s solitude and wandering in modern society that is rapidly being changed, in both Korea and Australia.

This exhibition displays the unique gazes of seven artists from the studio (Kim Seung Young, Yunho Kim, Noah Ryu, Park Hyun-doo, Jungju An, Seung-Hyun Lee and Jaye Rhee) on different cultures and modern society. They have actively worked in internal and external fields of art, communicating with other cultural aspects. The exhibition will explore new solutions to the personal problems of communication, relations, and hybrid culture through their artworks, leading the interest and empathy of locals.
