The Laurie Bennett Quartet is proud to bring you an afternoon of classic swing featuring Johnny Nicol on guitar and lead vocals. The group also includes jazz icons Laurie Bennett on drums, Ben Jones on tenor sax and vocals, and Craig Scott on double bass. Nicol began his career in 1958 as a member of The Maori Troubadours and is named by Don Burrows and Bob Barnard as their favourite Australian jazz singer. The group’s members have performed all around the world, and Bennett was a long-time member of Geoff Harvey’s Midday band on Channel 9.
