호주 The Portrait

관**
Elizabeth Rudy, Theodore Rousseau Assistant Curator of European Paintings, Division of European and American Art, Harvard Art Museums

One of the many strengths of the Art Museums is their portraiture collection, with works in multiple media across disparate cultures and centuries. Beginning with a portrait of a woman from 2nd-century Rome and ending with a disputed self-portrait of Gauguin from 19th-century France, this talk will explore the diverse ways in which Western artists depicted individuals, including themselves, through renderings both obvious and suggestive.

Free with price of admission. Admission is free to MA residents with valid ID on Saturdays before noon.

Gallery talks are informal and include discussion. Limited to 25 participants; please arrive early.
