다프니 두 모리어 작가의 원작 소설 ‘레베카(1938)’를 바탕으로 만들어진 이 작품은 토니상을 두 번 수상한 ‘선셋 블러바드’의 크리스토퍼 햄튼이 극작과 가사를 맡았고, ‘키스미, 케이트’ ‘시티 오브 앤젤스’ 등으로 토니상을 받은 마이클 블레이크모어가 연출을 맡았습니다.레베카는 영화 감독 알프레드 히치콕이 1940년 느와르-스릴러 영화로도 제작한 바 있고요... 순수하고 어린 여성이 젊은 부자 홀아비와 결혼해 함께 살게 되면서 사망한 전 부인에 대한 기억 때문에 벌어지는 갈등이 내용입니다.
