Sister Act: The Musical

Based on the hit 1992 movie that starred Whoopi Goldberg, the Broadway musical, Sister Act, is going on a North American tour beginning here in Toronto. Directed by Jerry Zaks with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, the show received five Tony Award nominations in 2011, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

It`s the comical story of a disco singer who`s put in protective custody in a convent after she witnesses a murder. Her sassy attitude clashes with the strict Mother Superior but also inspires her fellow nuns -- and threatens to blow her cover.
