BIG at the ROM

BIG showcases 40 artifacts from around the world, exclusively drawn from the ROM’s collection of approximately 50,000 textiles and costumes. Items are big in size, personality or cultural significance and are from the museum’s personal collection, with some recently acquired and unveiled for the first time.

Highlights include a dress-coat designed by John Galliano for Christian Dior Couture (commissioned by the ROM), a Pre-Columbian Peruvian feather cape dated to 1000 -1476 AD, an Indonesian bark cloth wrapper and contemporary designer fashions.

The installation is located in the Patricia Harris Gallery of Textiles & Costume on level four of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal.
